Keep The Change.: The Breath taking write-up.

Ahhhh... Sai baba, sai Buhari, Fire on, Buhari!! These were the words in our mouths almost a year ago when we were fed up with Goodluck Jonathan's 'weak' government. The corruption in the country was running freewheel, the government was almost sleeping, The demonic terror group Boko Haram was almost in posession more lands than the government itself. Yes, GEJ was not your perfect president. Yes, GEJ was weak and powerless and was probably a puppet to godfathers and PATIENCE. So, Nigerians did not want him anymore...
When the 2015 elections came up, people were more than excited. Afterall, they finally had the chance for 'better' governance. Before long, Tinubu, Fashola, Amaechi and friends had formed a coalition party called APC (All progressive Congress) whose only goal was to make sure PDP didnt win elections again. PDP had seen them as childsplay at first, but when the Jonathan government was clearly losing legitimacy, the PDP knew it was not business as usual. I will save you the details of the elections but you know General Muhammadu Buhari was APC candidate. 😩. Really? Buhari?!. Buhari and presidency is like a boring game of cards where there is an A and B playing but A keeps wining. Of course if A keeps wining, B will give up and tell himself "😧I guess i will keep failing" but just for the sake of playing. Then, hope flies in suddenly and boom! B wins a game.
If you didnt put it together yourself, let me do it for you.

Elections is the card game. PDP is A which has been in power since '99 and Buhari himself is B who keeps running for elections under different parties and has been losing, but just keeps running for running sake.

Of course when you run for elections without ambition, you are a recipe for disaster. And #Change was a big one. But not for majority of Nigerians who didnt like the idea of PDPs Transformation policy. They worshipped APC. They saw APC as the messiah that came to save them from the pains of PDP. Now, look at the change they asked for.

The complaints started with the controversial cabinet which in my opinion was a return of big favours and not the fact that people needed for the job were selected. Nigerians began to complain that Amaechi was too controversial to become a minister , Buhari did not listen.

The promises became uncertain probabilities. The #Change people who told Nigerians that they will give lunch to pupils -denied-. The #Change people who told Nigeria that the Chibok girls must be out in a few weeks -denied- The #Change people then said they will give unemployed youths 5k per month -denied-. Nigerians complained about all former promises that either became 'may' or 'might' or 'maybe', Buhari did not listen.

Fighting Corruption. The president was loved by all because according to some people, "Nigerians need a leader who is mad. A mad man who will destroy corruption by all means" so he closed his eyes to every other sector of the country. Most of those he persecuted were PDP. That does not mean APC members are angels. Nigerians complained. Buhari did not listen.

The economy. Let us start with the fact that in as much as you are supposed to change ministers, you cannot compare Adeosun to Okonjo-iweala. If the president wanted a woman to remain the minister of Finance, he would have either retained Okonjo-Iweala or at least gotten somebody good at math... basic math.

Fuel scarcity. I cant even imagine what causes this one. We produce petroleum for crying out loud. A farmer cant just lack soil in a farmland. I honestly dont know why we now have to stay on long queues to get fuel. Promises are being made up and down about when fuel will arrive. People are complaining. Buhari is not listening.

We can not stop counting the problems with the government and this point, we dont like the change we see. If they dont change this #Change soon, the people will have no choice but to change it next elections.

Really, keep the change.
